The fees for Nottingham City Council's Selective Licensing Scheme have now been all but confirmed. In a move that will come as little surprise to many landlords, the scheme has suddenly risen in price by £180 and is now set at £780. 

The good news doesn't end there... as things stand, Landlords have one month to make their application and that is during the summer holidays, and, even if they use a licensed agent to manage their property, they also need to undertake formal landlord training. 

To help landlords understand the implications of the scheme and help them prepare for the July 1st application date, Granger & Oaks, in partnership with EMPO, are running a series of 2 hour workshops in the coming months. 

Workshops dates are yet to be confirmed, but any interested landlords should contact us today to confirm if they would like to attend. 

"Preperation is essential for these license applications" comments Jonathan Detheridge from Granger & Oaks. "Being in a position just to complete the form could itself take a matter of months. Landlords need to have DBS checks, that can take three weeks to come through. There need to be floorplans drawn-up, and Electrical Condition Reports carried out. This isnt something that you can just do in a few hours"
